MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines is hosting the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR), which began on Monday, October 14, and will run until Thursday, October 17.
The conference gathers delegates from governments, civil society, the scientific community, and private sector to discuss the progress of implementing the Sendai Framework.
The sessions focus on disaster financing, communities’ participation, emerging technologies, and the use of artificial intelligence.
On Tuesday, October 15, Australia officially turned over hosting duties to the Philippines. Before Manila, the APMCDRR was held in Brisbane.
