LIST: Support communities affected by Tropical Storm Enteng and southwest monsoon

MANILA, Philippines – Multiple areas in Bicol region and other parts of Luzon experienced heavy rainfall and severe flooding on Monday, September 2, as Tropical Storm Enteng traversed mainland Luzon, further strengthening the southwest monsoon.

To provide help for affected areas, organizations and advocates have launched donation drives and relief operations. Here is a running list of donation drives you can reach out to:

ACT NCR Union

ACT NCR Union Tulong Guro is accepting monetary and in-kind donations for affected farmers and families in Metro Manila, Southern Tagalog, Bicol, and other affected regions. They are also accepting volunteers who will help distribute donations.

Agham Nasyunal

Agham Nasyunal, in collaboration with Brigada Kalikasan, Computer Professionals’ Union, and Pro-People Engineers and Leaders, among others, is calling for cash donations for affected communities in Navotas, Manila.

The Bicol University – University Student Council (USC) calls for monetary and in-kind donations to assist communities in Bicol.

Community Pantry PH

Community Pantry PH is accepting cash donations to help set up community kitchens in affected communities in Pasig, Caloocan, Marikina, Quezon City, Rizal, Bulacan, and Naga.

DepEd Tayo-Youth Formation-Marcelino M. Santos National High School

DepEd Tayo-Youth Formation-Marcelino M. Santos National High School is calling for in-kind and monetary donations to assist families who are currently evacuated in the school. Donations will also be provided to affected teachers and students in Antipolo City. 

Earth Angels Helping Hands

Earth Angels Helping Hands is mobilizing a donation drive for flooded communities in Luzon. They accept both in-kind and monetary donations. 

GCash

GCash, through the #TulongMoiGCashMo initiative, is accepting monetary donations. Funds will be transferred to several nongovernment organizations also conducting donation drives for Tropical Storm Enteng and the southwest monsoon. You can support affected communities by sending cash donations to your preferred NGO.

JCI Philippines – Metro Area

JCI Philippines – Metro Area is accepting monetary and in-kind donations for affected communities in Metro Manila, Bulacan, and Rizal.

Kabataan Partylist calls for monetary and in-kind donations to aid affected communities in Metro Manila, Bicol, and Quezon. Volunteers who are willing to help pack and distribute relief operations may sign up here

Kabataan Partylist Rizal is calling for monetary donations and in-kind donations for affected families in Rizal and Antipolo. Volunteers that can help with the distribution are also accepted. They may sign up here

Kadamay

Kadamay calls for monetary and in-kind donations to support communities affected by floods in Metro Manila. They also accept reports from other areas who are in need of assistance. 

Lingkod Kabataan Antipolo

Lingkod Kabataan Antipolo is calling for monetary and in-kind donations that will help supply their community kitchen at Barangay Mambugan and Barangay San Isidro in Antipolo City, Rizal. Volunteers are also accepted. 

Naguenyou

Youth organization Naguenyou accepts both monetary and in-kind donations to help support evacuees currently staying at the JMR Coliseum in Naga City. Proceeds will be used to purchase hot meals. 

Rise for Education – UP Diliman

Rise for Education – UP Diliman is accepting monetary and in-kind donations for affected UPD students and constituents. They are also conducting a sensing form  “to determine needs for assistance and requests for alternative academic arrangements.” 

Task Force Children of the Storm

Task Force Children of the Storm is calling for monetary and in-kind donations for “Tulong Paslit Mobile Kitchen,” which aims to support affected children and families along Marikina River.

Sangguniang Kabataan – Brgy. Lerma, Naga City

Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Lerma is calling for monetary and non-perishable donations for immediate relief in the affected communities in Naga City.

Sangguniang Kabataan – Brgy. Triangulo

Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Triangulo accepts monetary and in-kind donations such as hot meals, blankets, and hygiene kits for residents of Barangay Triangulo in Naga City. Proceeds will be used to supply hot meals. 

SJCNI Supreme Secondary Learner Government

The St. Joseph College of Novaliches, Inc. (SJCNI) Supreme Secondary Learner Government calls for monetary help and donations of non-perishable goods for affected communities in Novaliches and neighboring areas.

UNC Institutionalized Community Extension Services

The University of Nueva Caceres Institutionalized Community Extension Services and its association of volunteers are calling for monetary and in-kind donations for affected residents in Naga City. Donation period runs from September 2 to 6.

Youth Advocates for Climate Action Philippines 

Youth Advocates for Climate Action Philippines, in collaboration with Brigada Kalikasan, calls for monetary and in-kind donations to help communities in Navotas. Proceeds will be used to supply hot meals for affected families.
