After Taal Volcano was placed under Alert Level 3, over 3,500 families in Batangas have had to evacuate to keep themselves safe from danger.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology raised Taal Volcano’s alert level following three phreatomagmatic eruptions on Thursday, July 1.
In a bid to help those affected by Taal Volcano’s unrest, several groups have called for donations to provide aid to people in evacuation sites.
Batangas has so far set up a provincial donations hub under the Batangas Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office to facilitate the coordination of relief and donations to affected communities.
Those interested in bringing aid must coordinate with the Batangas Donations Hub instead of delivering straight to evacuation centers to prevent mass gathering and other violations of minimum public health standards during the pandemic.
The hub is located at Dalubhasaan Building, Provincial Sports Complex, Barangay Bolbok, Batangas City.
Those interested to donate may coordinate with the donations hub via the following numbers: 0963-772-7179 and 0963-772-7181.
