Emphasizing the need for “smart voting,” the De La Salle University-Dasmariñas Junior Marketing Association (DLSU-D JMA) will be spearheading an outreach webinar titled “Pahám: Makabagong Henerasyon ng Manghahalal” on Friday, May 21, from 3 pm to 5 pm, via Facebook live.
Encouraging the youth to take part in changing the future through the upcoming elections, the DLSU-D JMA organized the event to raise awareness about the importance of voting. The webinar also aims to show people how to assess candidates’ capacity to lead and carry out their duties.
The webinar features several speakers to shed light on the upcoming Philippine elections. Among its speakers are Ateneo School of Government dean Tony La Viña who will discuss the youth’s role in the 2022 elections. Emma Lynn Masongsong, a senior information officer of the Education and Information Department of Commission on Elections, will be tackling the importance of rights to suffrage. Meanwhile, Rappler reporter Mara Cepeda will be talking about the media’s influence on the elections.
The event is open for everyone who wants to get involved in our democratic responsibilities.
